Not having to shave my armpits EVERY single day….sometimes twice a day (in the summer)….is amazing, especially being a working mom of two. Everyone asks if it hurts…it does a little bit for a brief moment but there’s no stinging or redness immediately afterward and Carrie does everything to make sure you are totally comfortable and relaxed!!!!

For the past four years I have been so fortunate to use Light Touch Laser. As a student at Acadia University from Toronto, I was in the process of numerous laser treatments but being at school in Nova Scotia made treatments in Toronto tough – so I needed to find a place locally. I am so lucky to have found Carrie and Light Touch laser. I have been to many different places in Toronto for laser, and not one comes close to Light Touch. Carrie is the best technician I have had, the office is extremely clean and welcoming and the results are truly amazing! The personal touch that comes along with each service can’t be beat. I wished I still lived in Nova Scotia so that I could continue my treatments with Carrie at Light Touch.
Thanks again Carrie!

It’s hard to find the words to express how wonderful it is to be able to slip on a skirt, shorts, or tank top and know that you look presentable without any fuss. No longer do I have to worry about unwanted hair accidentally being seen. I am 43 years old and for the first time in my life I wore bikini to the beach!! It has improved my self-esteem and I feel great. I no longer feel I am the only one with something unsightly and embarrassing. And with laser treatment, it’s permanent; once it’s done, it’s done!!

I suffered for years with persistent painful and unsightly ingrown hairs regardless of what hair removal method I tried. Then I had a consultation at Light Touch Laser. I chose to try laser hair removal therapy with Carrie. More than a year after the last treatment the condition is completely cured, my skin is softer than ever and even visible scars are less noticeable. I only wish I had gone to Light Touch Laser sooner.

I f I could say one thing to someone who was debating about getting laser hair removal it really would be “Why wouldn’t you?” The second thing I would say is; “Be kind to yourself you are most definitely worth it.” Why wouldn’t you want to be free from something that bothers you on a daily basis? The amount of wasted energy and stress I experienced over something that is completely fixable is too awful to even think about. I feel like I am using overly dramatic language but I really wish I had known about laser in my teens and even early 20’s, I like to think I would have made the same decision to have laser done then.
My experience with hair has been a love hate relationship. I must confess I was born with what I call the ‘hair gene’. I love the fact that I have thick, long hair on my head, and thick eyebrows that I don’t have to pencil in (however I do have to wax to keep them at bay and I am currently having electrolysis so I don’t pull at the skin around the eye). Back to laser hair removal, I had dark hair on my legs my whole life and even had to shave my thighs as a teen. I have some scars as well from self teaching at age 11 how to shave in the shower. Let’s just say I parallel the memory of getting my worst shaving scar with the frequently played clip from Psycho. Your ankle really bleeds a lot, it was pretty bad.
My sister has two children and would call me up to say she was heading to the beach or to the local pool in the next 20 minutes and would I like to come. Sounds like a normal question. I would often have to decline for the sheer fact that it would take me 20 minutes just to shave and then there was the whole razor burn to contend with if the appropriate amount of time was not given to allow the skin to calm after the ordeal. I am not even going to talk about the bikini line.
I was one who would opt for wearing pants instead of the skirt or wear thick pantyhose or tights in the winter to make sure those babies didn’t poke through making me look like a homemade Chia Pet.
I loved the difference even one treatment made. After having a few treatments the skin is now so smooth and doesn’t have the bumps from hairs trying to push their way to the surface. I regularly put my leg out for random people to have a rub to see how smooth my legs are, you’d be surprised how many people take me up on it. I feel I must clarify that I offer my leg in relation to conversations about laser hair removal.
I still have a couple treatments to go but the reduction of hair has given me my spontaneous life back. I go months without shaving and still venture out in public with shorts on. I go to the pool or the beach fearlessly when called and I don’t worry about the racing stripes on the backs of my legs because I missed them reaching back in the shower. I am beach ready pretty much all of the time. As for the bikini area, good-bye razor burn and ingrown hairs.
I have since developed other hairy situations with aging and have started having some spot treatments on my jaw line. At least I knew about laser and that it would be effective in treating my new found beasties. I feel bad for those who have never heard of laser or don’t know about the freedom and confidence you can gain from getting rid of something that is constantly plaguing you. Be kind to yourself you are most definitely worth it.
